Hey my name is Matthew Hatley. I am 16 and I always loved the weather ever since I was a baby. I used to stand at the door and watch the lightning during thunderstorms. I was a little chap when I used to do that. I am a meterologist for mainly the southeast but occasinally I do forecasts for the whole country. I do my best to give information about the weather to people who ask me what the weather will be like for the day, or the week. My favorite time of the year is winter. I do the best weather forecasting during the winter. I enjoy all of the people who view my forecast, but not only mine but all the other forecasters at Weatheradvance.com

Hi Matthew. I wanted to let you know I cut open a persimmon this week. It was not rip but I could not wait and I had all spoons which means snow but it did not work last year and that was the only year it has been wrong. I see you NC snow is still predicted so maybe we will get tons of it. I am still following you on your weather. Cassie

If I read it correctly, Farmer’s Almanac is predicting lower than average snowfall and slightly warmer temperatures this winter 2012-2013 for the Spokane/Northern Idaho panhandle area. I’m not competent to judge the details but can you give an idea on what you base your forecast?

And, by the way, congrats on finding your passion early in life!

    Respectfully,

  2. Warm winter or blizzard for Chicago winter 2013? Place your bets here
[...] Farmers’ Almanac calls for “an average amount of winter precipitation,” but some sources say we can be getting “above average snowfall.” But that doesn’t really say much. [...]
