With all the arguments going around I want to end it off here WINTERS NOT OVER its only January and I believe winter will get kicking after the 15th of January. Note that if arguments won’t end Eric is a great meteorologist and bashing will not be excepted Only g-d knows the truth and we can’t forecast with 100% accuracy. If further bashing will continue we will have to ban who is ever arguing. Respect is one thing. Thank You and I hope we can all enjoy weather advance in peace once more

I hope nobody stopped participating in the conversations because of this. I hope you don’t mind me asking, how old are you? I’ve lately been admiring your forecasts and knowledge, as you know, and I was wondering your age.

I think you’d be very surprised to know I am only 16, lol, and I just started forecasting weather in late August, yet my skills have improved dramatically while working here. The amount of growth I have had in weather knowledge in the last few years is quite staggering, and there is hardly a day that goes by that I don’t learn something new. I always persevere to make my skills better, read scientific papers, read blogs, look back at history to try and solve current problems, etc.. It was only 2 years ago, I was still watching the weather channel (I can’t believe it myself) and I still did not know and understand the basics like what AO, NAO, and PNA meant. Now look at me and my abilities, it’s quite an amazing transformation, and I really am only getting started here. Just imagine what I could be capable of doing once I get the most important thing in weather forecasting (experience), and take actual courses on meteorology (you’d be shocked to know I have not taken a single class on it, I’ve had to learn everything I know by myself) I could easily become an expert on this and I’m aiming to get a doctorate degree in a related field of meteorology and conduct my own research to discover new things and help the weather community as a whole.
Also, I have a goal of one day being able to create a network or a specific business specifically designed to specifically compete with the weather channel (hopefully being able to overpower them), and giving you the weather how it is supposed to be, without any of those useless shows or propaganda, giving more accurate forecasts (not just looking at the GFS model like they are known to do) and have the meteorologists working there helping the viewers to also understand why the weather pattern is behaving a certain way and what is driving it.

There really are no sites that offer “predictions” per say, however, this site has daily observations, and this will come to great use of you in the future, also with the Potsdam AP (the blue line on the bottom) also is useful for looking at arctic blocking. Usually, the lower the index is, the more blocking usually shows up over the arctic and vis versa. It is now wonder with the index being so low, that the AO and NAO (along with other factors like the stratospheric warming event) is going to crash negative soon.
