Pennsylvania/New Jersey Snowfall map

High Ratio snows factor into heavily my snowfall totals. I’m blending the 12Z Nam and 12Z GFS together to come to these snowfall totals. Depending on later runs i will determine if i will up them or lower them, but as for now theses seem quite fair since it will be bellow freezing so everything that falls will stick, we wont be playing the some will melt on contact game this time.

  1. Hey just wanted to see iif this is true or not….
Folks, we don’t usually talk about the weather on here, in fact, we never have. But this needed to be shown (thank you to our friends at Mid Atlantic Weather). Early models are predicting a major blizzard for February 8-10. And we mean major. 24-34 inches of snow or more is currently being predicted for parts of Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and the NYC region. A lot can change between now and then, these are early models, but that’s what the weather folks are seeing.
  2. I think you guys should hang this up. We’ve had a pretty exciting winter and you are not keeping up with things nearly as well as you did the previous two or three years. Takes a lot of work!
  3. @Dan Finnerty, i am aware of what has been going on, we have been active on twitter. My computer has been down so i have not been able to post as much but I will have a post later on tonight.
  4. @Dante
The pattern will start to break down after next week and warm up for late february. Does this mean that winter is over for VA/DC if we get significant snow next week which maybe the last chance for DC to break the snow drought.
  5. Now you can see how this winter brought snow to mid atlantic and the southeast with unfavorable teleconnections and the -PDO. I heard so much blowtorch biased prediction from Eric that southeast would not get snow either. It was such an incorrect statement to make back in october that mid atlantic and southeast would be very warm and and well below average snowfall but it turned out the opposite. Eric, I hope that you have learned from this winter pattern. Henry M has no clue and basically just talks about the NAO.
