The cold air seems to persist at the end of the run showing even colder air coming down.

A taste of things to come late next week

For a couple days,I have have been watching this cold shot forecast on the GFS and it seems to me after this weeks warm up and partially next week, there may be a chance of a real cold shot coming to the East. Some places may see Day time temperatures in the 30s. My confidence on this has risen from 40% yesterday to 50% today.  Thursday next week, is the day when we should see a steadier cold air sinking down into the east and continue to do so.

The cold air seems to persist at the end of the run showing even colder air coming down. This chart goes inline to what regular El Ninos represent. It is also showing some of the ideas of the Winter Forecast, that CEO Dante Brown Royal has post which is, a warm west and a cold south and east. Dante also mentioned that a warm northern tier is also a possibility.

So far the El Ninos behavior is looking very evident and if the GFS model continues to show this cold blast, I expect many weather stations to be changing next weeks forecast to a much colder one.
